Hello
and welcome
to the website of the Cheongye Kwan, in Much Hoole, Preston! We are a system of Martial Arts training that
involves methods used only from authentic Korean
styles of training. We
concentrate our system into one formulated program, utilising the
best elements from several of Korea's most effective Martial
Disciplines.
From a
sporting perspective, the instructor (Master Barry Cook) is a Gold and Silver Medallist
and is a former member of the British National Team, competing
at both National and International levels. Master Cook was also the
Southern Technical Synchron and Freestyle Champion, which gained
him a National Ranking of 3rd overall in Great
Britain.
The
formation of our system, which officially started in 2007 offers its members a far
more rounded and balanced structure of
Martial Arts training.
Our association name:
Cheongye
Kwan Daehando means in English “School of Excellence in the Korean way”
Our school
originally opened its doors back in March 2003, and now over 5 years on
we can see that our members have gone on to develop excellent attitudes and
characters.
They work very hard at making their training the highest standard
it can be. Our classes have a
very good family atmosphere, were every student helps each other to
learn and grow, we also have several Black Belts and registered Assistant Instructors,
who are all First Aid qualified.
New members are
always welcome, so come down and
try a class and be part of this great authentic Korean Martial
Art. Classes cost £4 per person and ages start from 5. Wear
losing fitting clothing such as track suit trousers, and bring a
bottle of water for after the lesson, which lasts for roughly two
hours.
Members of the
association are concerned with only one thing and this is the
journey of self perfection, achieved through training and hard work.
Cheongye
Kwan is also a facilitator of CRB Disclosure Certificates.
