Welcome letter from the founder...

On behalf of the Cheongye Kwan, I would like to welcome you to the association and provide you with some information about our activities. The association provides training for people aged 5 and over, to receive instruction and mentoring in our particular system of Korean Martial Arts Education and Learning. We are not simply a physical Martial Arts class, but rather a complete Martial Arts Educational program that incorporates additional academic tuition into our syllabus in fields such as Science and Anatomy and Physiology. All coaching is done by highly qualified instructors who are very well trained and many of our Black Belts are also University Graduates.

Becoming a member of our remarkable association in Much Hoole will undoubtedly give you a huge advantage of new skills, both physically and mentally, but above all it will help to enhance the character and compassion of all our members. Our programs are designed to take students all the way to their Black belt level and beyond. During the progression of our student's training, we teach them to be an excellent student, focusing their mind and body, teaching them to listen well, be respectful, and to internalise the Martial Arts they are taught.

More than just Martial Arts - The Cheongye Kwan mentoring program replaces many missing elements in our students lives by offering them a role model, a figure of authority, a greater chance to succeed in reaching their goals, and helps them to develop discipline through physical and mental conditioning. Most importantly, we give our students focus and motivation for their futures and an opportunity to believe in themselves.

So let’s work together to build a better community for all of us to live in!

Let the Cheongye Kwan be the vehicle for that change, and let’s make that change now!

You have nothing to lose, your first two lessons are FREE!

Our 5 Key points of Respect

1. Respect Yourself

There is no one more important than yourself because you are the one living your life. You'll have many people help take care of you, but you are the only one who knows what you're really about. Therefore, self-respect is how you treat and care for yourself. To respect yourself, you should:

- Do your best in everything.

- Trust yourself in making good decisions.

- Take care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually.

2. Respect your Family

Your family members are the people who know you, for better or for worse. Because they're always around, sometimes we forget how important they are. Like air or water are necessities to live, we cannot survive without the love and roots of our family. To respect and love your family, you should:

- Listen to your parents.

- Share with your siblings.

- Do your chores and take responsibility for your part.

3. Respect your Teachers

In school, your teachers are educating you to become a better person. You must learn many different subjects and styles, just like in your Martial Arts, in order to grow into a better person with the right attitude. To respect your teachers, you should:

- Follow the rules of your teachers.

- Come in with an open mind and a willingness to learn.

- Be polite.

4. Respect your Friends

After family, friends are one of the most important parts of our lives. You will make many friends in your life and you must know how to respect them if you don't want to lose them. To respect your friends, you should:

- Be honest and sincere with them.

- Help and support them like you would want to be.

- Be courteous.

5. Respect your Association

Your Martial Arts school is the place where you will spend a great deal of your time, learning and growing with your classmates. You should treat your Dojang with the highest respect. To respect your Association, you should:

- Always try to get to classes on time.

- Help the teachers to run the classes by working hard.

- Be yourself, be loyal and be dedicated.
